oh my.

happy new year. i have not updated in such a while. the major news of the last year: dave moved to milwaukee, we got a new rehearsal space, my guitar was stolen-i got a new guitar(SG). we're planning to stick it out with a long distance relationship. we rehearsed last weekend as a matter of fact. come to our next show because we're doing something a bit different now. a bit of old and a bit of new material to create a new type of set from the standard both show. more to come later...

site's back up! i know you guys were clawing at the walls in anxiety over where bothonline.com was. you hadn't been told to eat a dick or been called meow-mixers in a while i know, so it must have been hard.

so, we got kicked out of our rehearsal space in superior, WI, over a month ago, and we still don't have a space. meanwhile, we're getting out of practice more and more. if anyone has any leads on a place we can make a lot of noise at, please let us know...we're not hippies, we will pay you.

Big thanks to those who came out the other night to the TPB to show their support and double thanks to those who bought CD's. hope you all like it. for those who don't have one and want one...there are a couple of options in the works. the electric fetus in both duluth and the twin cities will carry them. you can contact one of us directly and we'll ship you one...we're selling them for 10 US dollars...we won't charge you for shipping. i'm going to work out some sort of online ordering setup asap. for now, if you have a paypal account, click on the deal below the artwork to the right there and send me money via paypal and i'll send yo' ass one.

we'd also be interested in talking with any labels that would like to help with distribution...

So the video is available to the right. give it a little time to load. a DSL connection or cable connection will produce the best results, of course. to those with dial-up, i'm sorry if it takes forever...you'll have to come to the show on Friday and buy a disc to get a full MPG copy of the video. it's only about 9 MB though so it shouldn't take that long. oh, and you'll probably need a windows media player plug-in to play it. i tested it in IE and Mozilla and both worked so...hopefully there'll be no issues.

i love you all.

Meow,

I'm getting the mastered version of our record this weekend. it should be fully finished soon. i must've been on crack to think we could get it done by November. i can't f-in wait to get this done. the artwork is so sweet and the recording sounds great. once we figure out a release date, i'll tell everyone what we've named it. stay tuned for details.

Happy New Year,

so, i'm listening to the final mix of our next full-length. we finished it up and it sounds wicked-awesome. lazlo's the man. now it's on to the mastering process and it shall soon be in all your hands. it's going to have 11 songs and should be a spring/summer favorite. speaking of favorite...our drummer, justin timberlake...er, i mean zac bentz (a.k.a. - dirty knobs) is becoming a fast favorite over at radio k. his cd's are starting to sell like hotcakes in the twin cities and everyone's starting to want a piece of zb...so, if you haven't already, pick up that damn cd and satiate yourself before the BOTH record comes out. oh, and come to see us this friday. it should rule. MEOW

OK,

so the feud idea went completely wrong and people that are supposed to find it funny didn't, so i've decided to bow out. it's a joke...people. i have no animosity towards We Invented Tornadoes ...buy their records and go see them and stuff.

so we shot the video for "the thing i couldn't know" this weekend. it went well from my perspective. sounds like zac's portion went good too. not sure how much of it is left. as for the record, we're going to adam's the first weekend in January to mix the album. then it's on to mastering it! it's going to be good dudes. happy holidays and whatnot.

Friday night was a good show. Thanks to those that came out...of the closet...and to the show. Those that went to the We Invented Tornadoes show instead can eat a dick. I think we're going to start a feud with them. when we we were at adam's doing some recording one time, dude from we invented tornadoes calls adam and is telling him about a show they're playing that night and adam says he can't go because he's recording a band. dude asks who the band is and adam says "BOTH"...dude replies, "WHO?!"...OK, OK fine BOTH isn't widely known anywhere...not even in our own region, BUT WE PLAYED A FRIGGIN' SHOW WITH THOSE GUYS BEFORE! they were the snails at the time so maybe once they changed their name, they forgot every band they played with before. even if i don't get to see a set from a band i've ever played with, i don't forget them entirely...love us or hate us, please don't get indifference from us. that's the only thing that will piss me off. that means we did nothing memorable at all, which i refuse to believe.

so here the feud begins.

horsedicks,

so, i said we'd be releasing the BOTH album in Nov...yeah, i lied. i know you're all devastated especially the good people of Japan. we are still working on it. the tracking is almost done. we just need to do vocals so it's now up to cougar. speaking of cougar, i think he should buy a mercury cougar just so he could have a car with cougar written on it. anyhow, this friday, at the terminal bar, you should go there.

greetings smugglers,

let's see, BOTH news...um, we were asked to submit a song for the twin town music yearbook vol. 6 comp put out by pulse magazine...we picked a song we've recorded with adam called 'the thing i could not know'. it rules. our bass player is the white Mr. T...and rod roddy is dead.

fun show the other night. love the bands we've been playing with and big thanks to haley bonar for jumping on stage with us. we're putting a song called "farewell" on our upcoming recording that was written with haley in mind on vocals. hopefully she'll be able find time to do the vox. our next show is @ the lovely twin ports brewery this friday. get down to souptown you clown. then, on saturday, we're hopefully doing vocals for the record...well, i'm not, greg is. i'll be there just for (m)oral support. keep it real.

Sept. 23rd, 2003

both is still busy, busy, busy. have you come out to see us yet? if you haven't, we know who you are, ya smugglers. to those that have and do... thanks. it really really rules to have some fans. on that note, the menomonie show was, in my opinion, a good time. please see Mr. Thudder's recap of the night's events on the forum. oh, and i've got pics to upload from the last two shows, i just have to get rolling on those. cougs and i went to Mr. Lazlo's to work on the record some more and it's really coming along noicely (yes, i intended to spell it that way). It still looks like a November release, me thinks.

Sept. 14th, 2003

the show on friday night was fun as hell. circa was awesome. words to a film score ruled, and drunk girl's performance was stellar. i have pictures to prove all of this but my dumb ass left it at radalan's. as soon as i get it back, it'll be posted. most likely along side the pictures we get this friday in menomonie at Mr. Heavy's. it'd be great to see some folks come out to this show so if you feel like driving down to see us, we'll make it worth your while, i swear it. if not, we still love you.

injustice.
today, we live in world where the beloved Johnny Cash dies at 71, John Ritter dies way young at 54 and Pro-Nazi Filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl dies at the ripe old age of 101.

We're at war losing lives of young Americans overseas while here at home the f-in RIAA is worried about suing 12 year old girls for sharing 'N Sync albums. We were attacked two years ago and lost 3000 people and we haven't seized the main suspect. Ashcroft and his DEA is actually more worried about Tommy Chong selling pipes on some web page.

OK, i've bored you all enough. Come see both play at the Twin Ports Brewery tonight. It's the best beer in the area. Share a couple of pitchers and listen the soothing sounds of area rock. i promise cougar will have honey in his voice tonight. We're playing with Circa A.M. and Words to a Film Score. what more do you need? If you decide to come, please drive safely, there's some weird funk in the air lately and i can't deal with more bad news.

Sept. 2nd, 2003

greetings bothamaniacs, both is busy! we're currently recording our next full-length with adam lazlo. this last weekend, dave and zac finished up with their parts(we think). so, with the rhythm section finished, it's on to guitars and vocals. it sounds f-in great thus far, we're doing 11 songs, look for a release before the end of the year. it's really exciting because we've got some excellent people working with us on the process.
also, be sure to come see us at our upcoming shows, we don't need instructions to know how to rock.
